Magic Christmas returns to Villa Reale on December 7th and 8th, 14th and 15th, and 21st and 22nd, 2024, from 2 PM to 9 PM. Enjoy the enchanting Christmas atmosphere, with the aroma of mulled wine and burning wood in the Nordic braziersas, in one of the most iconic locations in Tuscany.
This year there will be three weekends to live the most magical moment of the year immersed in the park of Villa Reale di Marlia with a great news for this edition!
Villa Reale will host some of the handmade nativity scenes of Fontanini Presepi company, born in 1908 in Bagni di Lucca and became an important reality at international level in the art of creating nativity sets and scenes of high quality.
Fontantini Presepi stands out for its ability to combine craft techniques handed down from four generations with an innate creativity, giving life to unique nativity scences that celebrate the magic of Christmas and the beauty of local culture, works of art made with meticulous care, using fine materials and refined details.
It is possible to admire four examples of nativity scenes of different sizes during the event Magical Christmas of Villa Reale:
- Inside the Miniature room, you can admire the nativity scenes with statues of 18 cm.
- Statues of 45 cm will be set up in the Royal Villa.
- Large statues, around 125 cm, will create the nativity inside the St. Francis Xavier’s Chapel.
- There will be life-size statues (180 cm) in front of the Royal Villa.
To deepen the tradition of Lucca nativity scenes, could not miss the presence of the old and award-winning factory Arte Barsanti, founded in 1900 by Carmelo Barsanti, who first started the production of plaster statues in Bagni di Lucca. Still today the production is carried out as a century ago and it will be possible to admire three nativity scenes, one inside the Royal Villa, one at the Pan’s Grotto and one on the back of the Clock House.
Finally, there will be two nativity scenes (one inside the museum of the Clock House and one in the fireplace of the Blue Room) made by the Etruria Statue, born in 1966 in Piano di Coreglia (Lucca), by Pellegrini family. Nativity scenes and corner of the Figurinaio was setted by the Municipality of Coreglia Antelminelli.
Finally, inside the museum of the Clock House, small examples of creations made by Cose e Persone, social cooperative born with the intention of integrating young people with intellectual and relational disabilities into the world of work.
It will be an unmissable opportunity to experience the magic of Christmas in family in our stables, with creative workshops. Children will not miss the opportunity to write their own letter for Santa in a cozy atmosphere of lights, music and Christmas decorations.
There are also more than 30 wooden games built with salvage wood or woodworking waste, ideal to stimulate concentration, strategic skills, coordination, skill and cooperation, ideal for players of all ages!
FAQ – Magical Christmas 2024
What is the event like? It is possible to amke the visit of the park from 2PM to 9PM, in winter/Christmas version, where you will find the light installations, Santa Claus, the handmade cribs, the mulled wine/hot chocolate. You can also add a visit of the interiors of the Royal Villa and the Clock House. The area around the lake will be closed from 17.
When should I arrive? The park opens at 2:00 pm and closes at 9:00 pm so you can come whenever you like.
Will there be entertainment for children? Santa and his elves will wait for the children in the stables for thematic workshops from 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm
How much does it cost?
– 0-2 years: free
– From 3 to 9 years: €5
– From 10 years to 99+: €15
What does the entrance ticket include? Entrance to the two museums (Villa + Clock House) and to the park (excluding the lake area which will be closed on the occasion of the Magic Christmas) starting from 2pm until 9pm, with last recommended access at 7pm. Additionally it is possible to enjoy the christmas atmosphere inside the stables and admire the nativity scenes of the Fontanini company positioned in different points of the property.

How to enter the park with the online ticket? Once you have purchased your online ticket, you will receive your e-tickets by email. On the day of the event we ask you to present directly at the ticket office with the received QRcode, the digital copy will be enough.
Can I buy tickets on the day of the event? Only in case of availability. We strongly recommend online purchase.
Are the Cafés open? Yes, the Cafès will be at your disposal. Vinbrulè, hot chocolate and Christmas sweets will be the protagonists in the courtyard of the Clock House! The park closes at 9 PM so to allow you to go out for dinner.
In case of rain? The event will be held anyway.
Is the ticket refundable? No, it is only valid for the date you have chosen; if you cannot come you can give it to others. Once the corresponding tickets are validated, they will not be usable by others who present themselves with the same order number.
Do season ticket holders have to buy a ticket? Only for children, repling to the ticket receipt email indicating that there are no adults in the order because you are season ticket holders..
